According to Mr. Dang Van Tuan, Acting Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, in 2023, the province will synchronously and effectively implement export control solutions to achieve a year-round export turnover of $3.9 billion, with an increase of more than 8.3% of the 2022 performance.

Right from the beginning of the year, the province promoted trade promotion activities with the focus on strengthening information, propaganda and promotion; focused on promoting the application of information technology through the e-commerce environment and digital technology platforms in order to improve efficiency and promote export growth.

Mr. Dang Van Tuan said that, in order to achieve the goal, the Department of Industry and Trade will act as the focal point and center to promptly provide updated information related to the export market as well as domestic and foreign fairs and exhibitions to enterprises and cooperatives in need in order to connect export supply and demand, promote effective trade, and expand export markets.

The Department of Industry and Trade will act as the focal point for businesses and cooperatives to participate in domestic and foreign trade promotion activities and events; organize a delegation to survey new markets and trade transactions in parallel with training and fostering to improve business capacity and skills; support brand development and product consumption for enterprises and cooperatives in the province.

For fruit exports in particular, key agricultural products have the strength of the province in general, the locality is interested in capturing the export situation at border gates such as Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, and Ha Giang, etc. timely update hot information to businesses and cooperatives; closely coordinates with the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in promoting necessary procedures such as making dossiers for issuance of packing facility codes, growing area codes, etc. in order to increase official quota export to the Chinese market as well as other countries.

In 2023, the province will continue to promote the implementation of the Commodity Import-Export Strategy for the period 2011 - 2020 and orientation to 2030. Especially, strengthen the propaganda, dissemination and information about the signed free trade agreement aiming to help businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, capture information, exploit and take advantage of the incentives that the agreement brings, while meeting standards and regulations. Thereby, units can actively build production, export and market expansion plans, find suitable partners, etc.

Tien Giang province is also aiming to expand the export market of agricultural products on the basis of fully exploiting comparative and competitive advantages, ensuring high growth targets, attracting many foreign currencies, contributing to rapid and sustainable economic growth, stabilizing people's life. In particular, focus on export markets for fresh agricultural products and processed agricultural products, meeting the requirements of each market and increasing the value of export goods.

In addition, in order to ensure sustainable export growth, the province continues to innovate investment promotion, improve infrastructure to serve businesses calling for investment, and make good use of investment mechanisms, preferential policies to attract investment associated with actively supporting businesses to build and connect raw material areas, train and supply labor, promote product consumption and export markets, etc.

In 2023, the province strives to attract 22 new investment projects from all economic sectors with a total registered investment capital of VND29,000 billion, an increase of 77.4% compared to 2022. The province expects the effective results of attracting investment, welcoming the investment wave of enterprises in industrial zones and clusters in Tien Giang province, practically creating more jobs for workers, actively participating in the export of goods to ensure the local exports grown strongly and stably, higher than the previous year.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, in 2022, thanks to reasonable management solutions, actively supporting export businesses to connect supply - demand and expand markets, Tien Giang province's export turnover will continue to grow steadily. The province's total export turnover of goods for the whole year reached $3.6 billion, with an increase of 15.9% over the previous year and exceeding 7.5% of the plan.
