On the morning of February 22, Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tien Giang Province and leaders of departments and branches had a working session with works with Japan Trade Promotion Organization (JETRO) in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented souvenirs to JETRO.

At the meeting, the People's Committee of Tien Giang province introduced socio-economic achievements as well as the potential and advantages of the province's development; information on investment and development orientations in all fields in the coming time.

Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh, Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee, said that in 2022, the province has completely controlled the Covid-19 epidemic. Production and business activities and people's lives have returned to normal status. In particular, the economic development, especially the production and business activities of FDI enterprises, has recovered strongly. The province's export turnover in 2022 reached nearly $4 billion, as the highest one ever. Currently, investors are also very interested in the province, enterprises continue to expand the scale of production and business. The province is focusing on calling for investors to promote investment in Tien Giang province so that the province can continue to promote its advantages. The province has fully prepared conditions to attract foreign investors. The province has publicly issued a list of projects calling for investment in the province. Currently, there are 05 Japanese enterprises that have invested in the province, mainly in the fields of electronics, leather shoes, etc. Some areas the province needs to call for investment in which Japan has strengths such as electronics, fruit processing, high quality materials, etc. Tien Giang province wishes that JETRO will continue to be a bridge for Japanese enterprises and other organizations to invest in the province.

Giving his speech at the meeting, a representative of JETRO said that Japanese enterprises attach great importance to the environment and investment advantages in Vietnam. Japanese enterprises are focusing on investing in major provinces and cities of Vietnam such as: Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, etc. However, labor costs, land rental costs have increased and the land fund these cities and provinces are not much. Therefore, Japanese enterprises are paying attention to invest in other provinces and cities. This is a great opportunity for Tien Giang province to seize to call for investment, etc.

After the meeting, the JETRO delegation visited in Hung Phat Fruit Production Co., Ltd in My Tho industrial zone and Nissei Electric My Tho Co., Ltd. in Long Giang industrial zone.
