On the afternoon of April 25th, in Ho Chi Minh city, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Le Van Huong received Mr. Kawaue Jinuchi, the new Consulate General of Japan visiting Tien Giang. At the meeting, the leader of Tien Giang province generally introduced in terms of Tien Giang's conditions of nature, economics and society; and some fields are being attracted and called for investment. The Chairman of People's Committee of Tien Giang province emphasized that the province strongly welcomed the Consul General's visit and hoped that Mr. Kawaue Junichi will be the connection for long and deep cooperation between organizations and enterprises of Japan and Tien Giang.

Mr. Kawaue Junichi expressed his sincere thanks to Tien Giang province's leaders for their royal and warm welcome, especially creating advantages for Japanese workers and enterprises working in the province.
It is known that Tien Giang and Japan have a good relationship in many fields. Tien Giang's export turnover to Japan reached over $150 million in 2016 with the main products such as rice, seafood, vegetables, textiles and handicraft products; Tien Giang enterprises mainly import from Japan raw materials of garment, leather shoes and plant protection products... Currently, Tien Giang has 5 direct investment projects of Japan with a total registered capital of $36 million. Tien Giang is also the province receiving many JICA projects. In addition, Japan is a large labor-exporting market of the province with over 800 employees; Tien Giang Health College has a nursing training program to work in Japan and Tien Giang University organized co-training courses with Japanese partners.
