It is estimated that on peak days from February 2nd to February 8th ( 28th day of 12th lunar month to 4th day of 1st lunar month), Tien Giang has welcomed nearly 116,000 visitors, with an increase of 28% compared to the Lunar New Year 2018, including 28,000 international visitors, increasing by 5.15% compared to the Lunar New Year 2018.
Most of the famous tourist destinations and resorts in the province have welcomed a large number of tourists. The strongest increase is Dong Thap Muoi eco-tourism area, with the number of tourists increasing by 65%; Tan Thanh beach resort, increasing by 12.8%; Thoi Son island tourist area increased by 6.64% compared to Lunar New Year 2018...
In order to serve the people to enjoy the Lunar New Year, the province has also organized many happy-new-year events, cultural and artistic gathering places, pictures exhibitions, flowers street and flower markets..., which contributes a significant part of attracting tourists inside and outside the province.
In addition, the province has provided VND38 billion to districts, cities and towns to invest in construction of cultural works to serve the people, such as flower routes, art lights and spring cultural works. Particularly, in the Provincial Center Square, it is the first time water music ensembles were put into service to the people, creating a highlight to attract tourists.
In Ky Hoi Tet holiday, to create a playground to serve the people and stimulate tourism, the province has organized 17 exhibitions of economic and technical achievements, ornamental flowers and other attractive cultural activities, etc.
In 2019, Tien Giang strives to attract 2.1 million visitors, increasing by 4.15% compared to the previous year. In particular, there are 850,000 international visitors, increasing by 4.7% over the previous year, the rest are domestic visitors. Estimated eourism revenue reaches VND1,141 billion, increasing by 15.02% compared to the previous year.
