On the morning of April 10, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc presided over the Government's online conference with ministries, branches and localities on urgent tasks and solutions to remove difficulties for production and business; promote disbursement of public investment; support for workers, ensure social security; ensure social safety and order in the context of the impact of Covid-19 epidemic. In Tien Giang province, Mr. Nguyen Van Danh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Le Van Huong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the conference.

According to a report by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, due to the impact of the epidemic, although Vietnam's economic growth was the highest one in the region in the first quarter of 2020 (increasing by 3.82%), this is the lowest one in the last 10 years, just over half of the plan. Production and business activities in many sectors of the economy were stalled; many businesses, business households and cooperatives had to suspend operations, narrow production scale or produce in moderation; increase unemployment, job loss in the short term.
In the context of the global recession, which is perceived to be more severe than the whole year of 2008, the Government has implemented incentive policies in various fields, such as social security support, electricity price support, telecommunications price support, credit support, fiscal stimulus, etc. In addition, nearly VND 700,000 billion of public investment needs to be disbursed in this year.
At the conference, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc reminded to continue strictly implementing social isolation under Directive No. 16/CT-TTg on urgent measures to prevent and control Covid-19 epidemic, in which anti-epidemic is the leading task in the current period. He said that the four contents reported by the Government at the conference were very important in the context of the disease affecting globally. In the effects of the epidemic, countries set highest priority to prevent and eliminate epidemics as soon as possible, and simultaneously take measures to stimulate the economy and strive to overcome the current recession.
The Prime Minister asked the ministries, branches and localities to change their ways of preventing and controlling epidemic drastically; concurrently to solve administrative reform and create a favorable business environment. The ministries, branches and localities need to unite, coordinate closely and determine highly in implementing with the spirit that "the epidemic makes us twice as difficult, we must try to triple, focus on reform, improve legal regulations, decrease administrative procedures to create favorable conditions, reduce costs for people, businesses, etc.".
