On June 24th, the Economic - Budget Committee and the Culture and Social Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council chaired a meeting with the Department of Planning and Investment, related departments, branches as a basis for verification of report on the situation of economic, cultural and social development in the province in the first 6 months of 2020. Participants were Ms. Nguyen Thi Sang, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and Mr. Pham Van Bay, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council.

According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, the economic and social situation in the first 6 months in some fields continued to have positive changes. Specifically, industrial production continued to grow, the industrial index in the first 6 months was estimated to increase by 1.3% over the same period; total social investment capital was estimated at VND16,033 billion, reaching 43% of the plan, increasing by 10.9% over the same period; 23 projects were attracted to investment, an increase of 10 projects over the same period; disbursement of public investment increased over the same period, the total estimated value of implementation was more than VND3,400 billion, the disbursement value was estimated at over VND3,100 billion, reaching 54.4% of the plan, etc. In particular, the province has drastically implemented measures to prevent and control Covid-19, there was no occurrence of Covid-19 cases in the province, contributing to the whole country to control and effectively control the spread and protect health and people's lives.
At the meeting, members of the Provincial People's Council proposed specific solutions so that relevant departments and branches could implement the targets in the last months of the year such as solutions to protect orchards in the Western districts in the dry season of the following years; solutions to ensure daily-life water for people in Eastern districts; plans to reduce traffic accidents; plans to support businesses, tourism establishments to restore operations, etc.
Gave his speech at the meeting, Mr. Pham Van Bay proposed to the Department of Planning and Investment to exchange with the Provincial Statistics Department of data relating to agriculture, forestry and fishery, to ensure that it reflects the real situation; study specific solutions to organize the implementation in the coming time to complete the set plan. Regarding the figures of departments and branches reflecting at the meeting, Mr. Pham Van Bay suggested that departments and agencies focus on reflecting to the Department of Planning and Investment for synthesis, based on that, the Provincial People's Council will discuss again through drafts of the following verification reports, etc.
