According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Go Cong Dong district, from the beginning of the year up to now, local farmers have sown nearly 5,300 hectares of vegetables and crops of all kinds, of which 110 hectares are grown on the field, reaching nearly 49% of the whole year target and an increase of 18.75% over the same period last year.
As a coastal district, often facing drought and saltwater intrusion, Go Cong Dong district attaches great importance to production conversion in order to destroy monoculture situation while mitigating natural disasters, improving farming efficiency, stabilizing production and people's life. Through agricultural extension, intensive farming technology transfer at the same time with collective economic development, forming cooperative groups and cooperatives to grow safe vegetables, grow vegetables according to GAP criteria; linking to bring products to wholesale markets, supermarkets, collective kitchens, etc. the district helps solve stable output for commodity agricultural products and farmers are also assured to promote production.
From the beginning of the year until now, farmers in Go Cong Dong district have also harvested an output of over 99,700 tons of vegetables and crops, reaching 51.16% of the year target. In general, the prices of vegetables and crops are stable, the farmers earn interest 2 to 3 times or more than the previous monoculture rice cultivation, so farmers are very excited.
