According to the Department of Labor - War Invalids and Social Affairs of Tien Giang province, from the beginning of the year until now, through the efforts of consulting, creating jobs, sending workers to work abroad, etc. nearly 7,000 employees in the province have been created jobs, reaching about 36.26% of the year target. In which, nearly 3,800 employees are able to create jobs through policies to attract investment in socio-economic development of the province, over 2,900 employees have had jobs through loans from the National Fund in terms of employment, entrusted capital of the Bank for Social Policies, the rest are employees working abroad, etc.
In 2020, the work of consulting and solving jobs in the province has faced many difficulties due to the impact of natural disasters and epidemics on a global scale. Although the locality has made many efforts to overcome, in general, the implementation progress is still slow, not achieving the desired results. In particular, the job counseling work is interested in the province in order to help employees find jobs which are suitable for their strengths and aspirations, and ensure social security. In specific, from the beginning of the year until now, the Department of Labor - War Invalids and Social Affairs has provided job counseling for over 25,000 employees, with an increase of 41.8% over the same period last year and 27% higher than the plan for the whole year 2020. Multiple consulting activities relate to career, job, labor law, etc. and nearly 1,800 workers are provided jobs, reaching about 70% of the plan for the whole year 2020. Thereby, thousands of workers find jobs and have stable income.
Regularly organizing job transaction sessions also aims to create favorable conditions for enterprises and workers. Since the beginning of the year, Tien Giang province has organized 11 job sessions, with an increase of 02 sessions over the same period last year, attracting nearly 1,000 employees. In which, there are 03 job transaction sessions, 07 job transaction sessions for employees enjoying unemployment benefits and 01 online job transaction session with provinces in Mekong Delta. As noted, there were 16 times of enterprises participating in direct recruitment with the need to recruit more than 2,000 employees and 09 times of business recruiting indirectly entrusting Job Service Center to recruit about 1,150 employees.
In addition, with an effort to remove difficulties and create jobs for workers, the province also has implemented many preferential policies to encourage workers to work abroad. The Provincial People's Committee has increased the loan from VND50 million to under 100 million VND/person to work abroad. Concurrently, from now to the end of the year, the Department of Labor - War Invalids and Social Affairs of the province and districts, city, towns, schools and vocational training institutions coordinate to implement many solutions to promote the sending of workers to work abroad, such as promoting propaganda about guidelines and policies of the province on the sending of workers to work abroad; promote consulting activities to work abroad, etc.
From the beginning of the year up to now, the province has had 524 workers consulted to work abroad, at the same time, 183 workers have been exited, reaching 61% of the 2020's target, of which 149 employees in Japan, 29 employees Taiwan, the rest is in other countries.
